Generative Snowflake Lasercut

This project, a collaboration between myself and Helen Bailey, used Processing to generate realistic snowflake geometries, each being unique, and allow gallery visitors to interact with them on the screen as they fell through gestural sensing.

When a visitor saw a snowflake they liked, they could capture it, and have an image of it sent to them. Additionally, we used the vector output of these shapes to fabricate physical versions of what the visitor saw on the screen, resulting in very high-detail physical cuts.
