Narratives of Conflict: What the 2014 Gaza War Can Tell Us About Discourse on the Internet

Narratives of Conflict is a study I collaborated on with Dalia Othman. We used the Media Cloud platform and my work on the Network of Frames visualization to analyze conversations and frames surrounding the Gaza War discourse.

From our analysis of word usage similarity across media sources, we were able to gain insight into a number of communities of discourse that were focused on varying aspects of the war including distinct conversations surrounding the Israeli military, human rights, and humanitarian aid for those affected by the war.
